About Us

I am a compassionate mental health movement specialist, with an extensive background in mental health, neurodevelopmental and movement programs. I am the owner and founder of Improve, an organization dedicated to helping individuals of all abilities gain wholeness through fitness and mental wellness. I have spent the last 10 years studying neuroscience, psychology, biology, kinesiology, and physiology to present a program that would help individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, autism, addictions, and various neurological deficits. I have a master’s degree in psychology and over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I have always had a passion for helping neurodivergent individuals and their parents to live higher quality, more fulfilling lives. Pursuing this goal from the beginning of my career, I started as an Early Intervention Specialist for the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and then continued my work at the Child Development Institute where I served as a therapist. I also ran CrossFit sessions independently, and trained others to become CrossFit instructors. One day, a parent with a neurodivergent child asked if I could recreate the CrossFit experience for her child because a traditional gym environment overwhelmed them. That one question gave birth to SpecialFit which is now known as Improve, an exercise facility specifically designed to provide a safe environment for neurodivergent individuals. I have been working closely with Dr. Ahmadi for the past 5 years, developing our contemporary mental health functional assessments and body-mind interventions to improve neuromuscular performance, body-mind connectedness, wellbeing and to reduce core psychiatric symptoms, especially in youth, and adults. At Bright Flourishing Health, I will work closely with Dr. Ahmadi to provide mental health functional movement evaluations and treatments to address functional movement impairments related to psychiatric disorders.
