The Health District's goal is to address physical inactivity,
health improvement and community fitness. We seek public and
private sector involvement and work with employers to promote
the development of Employee Fitness Programs. Other Health
District efforts target schools, youth, seniors and low-income
groups. Collaboration with community organizations and health
providers are conducted to promote physical activity, disease
prevention and health protection.
Be healthy. Be active.
Feel better, look better, live longer
What is Moderate Physical Activity?
Moderate physical activity is described as activities that
use our large muscle groups. These activities would be brisk
walking, swimming, cycling, dancing, gardening, and yard work
The benefits of physical activity are remarkable.
It can lower your risk of diabetes, heart disease,
high blood pressure and cholesterol. It can boost your
energy, lower your stress and improve your balance.
You get these benefits through everyday activities.
Physical activity fits with life.
