"Bugs" and Bites

Bites and stings hurt, but sometimes they can also make you sick. Learn about the "bugs" (microbes) in the bite!

Animal Bites, Stings and Rabies - Do you know the difference between a bite and a sting? This class teaches the prevention of both bites and stings, what to do if prevention doesn't work, and facts about rabies.
  • The class can be geared for all age groups.
  • Class time ranges from 30 minutes to 1 hour--depending on audience.


Emerging Infectious Diseases - Do you wonder about Hantavirus Pulomonary Syndrome, Lyme Disease, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, Giardiasis, Salmonellosis or Psittacosis? Learn the history of infectious diseases, about the "bugs" (microbes) that cause them, and how you can prevent them.
  • This class is geared for adults.
  • Class time depends on audience and topics discussed.
